(Sorry it’s been awhile since my last post. I took a few weeks off facebook/blogging… to help with time control. But I’m back!)

I recently heard a teaching on the subject of evangelism. And the teaching covered several different questions such as: what is evangelism? how do we evangelize? and why are we to do it in the first place?

Well, in answer to that last question, we are to share the good news bc Jesus commanded it before He left earth. In Matthew 28 Jesus says to “go and make disciples of all nations teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. …” That seems pretty clear. Go and make disciples…

How do you make disciples? By evangelizing.

How do we evangelize? By telling people about the Good News of God’s kingdom. John the Baptist, Jesus, and the disciples all had one main message – Repent! The Kingdom of heaven is near! Which could be stated this way, “Turn around and live life God’s way bc the King is here!”

Since the death and resurrection of Jesus the kingdom of heaven has begun here and now on this planet in this day and age. We are tasting the firstfruits of that kingdom. We get to live under the rule and reign of the King, and therefore, we bring the kingdom with us wherever we go.

Go out and tell people about this amazing King and His Kingdom! Miracles happen! Hope is given. You have a purpose and a Father in heaven who knows your name. There is a King who has called you into His Kingdom and He is more than worthy of your service. Give Him your all. Become a King’s man! (or woman 🙂 )

Finally, what is evangelism? Bringing people under the authority of the King. Teaching others to submit to His rule and His reign. As Jesus Himself said “repent!” stop sinning, start obeying bc the King has arrived and His kingdom is here.

It’s time to stand up, believer, and acknowledge that the kingdom of God is at hand. His rule and reign have begun on earth through His people and one day it will cover the earth. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus the Messiah is the King to the glory of God the Father.
